Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect is licensed per user, with three editions to match the depth of modeling your team needs. The editions below are available through Sparx Systems Malaysia, the authorised regional partner for Sparx Systems Pty Ltd (Australia), the developer and licensor of Enterprise Architect. All EA licenses include 12 months of updates, support, and access to the registered users area.
Choose Your Sparx EA License Edition
Each edition is offered as either a Standard license (assigned to a single user) or as an Enterprise Architect Floating license (issued from a license server and shared across your team up to the number of seats purchased).
Corporate Edition
The entry point for team-based modeling. Corporate Edition adds user security, model auditing, version control integration, and DBMS-backed shared repositories on top of the core Enterprise Architect feature set. Suited to teams standardising on shared models for business analysis, software design, and IT architecture documentation.

Unified Edition
The most widely chosen edition. Unified combines the modeling languages most teams use day to day such as UML, SysML, BPMN, ArchiMate, DMN, and more — together with simulation, decision modeling, and the technologies needed for software, systems, and business architecture work in a single license.

Ultimate Edition
The complete Enterprise Architect license. Sparx EA Ultimate edition includes everything in Unified plus the additional technologies and extensions used in advanced systems engineering, executable modeling, and code engineering across multiple programming languages. When you buy a Sparx Enterprise Architect license, you become a registered user for 12 months. Your entitlements during this period include the right to:
Download and activate the current full version of Enterprise Architect using the license key issued with your purchase
Receive free updates and new builds including both major and minor releases for 12 months
Access Sparx Systems email support for 12 months
Access the registered users area on the Sparx Systems website and the resources hosted there

Sparx EA License Renewal
How renewal works
At the start of the month your Sparx EA license expires, we'll send a renewal notice with purchase links to the email address registered against your license. To make sure you receive it, keep your registered email up to date with us.
If your subscription has already expired, contact Sparx Systems Malaysia at sales@sparxsystems.my to renew your EA license. Including your Sparx Enterprise Architect license registration key, order number, or the email address you registered with helps avoid delays.
If your subscription lapses
You can reinstate your subscription within a 2-year period by paying the renewal fee for the license type you hold. This re-entitles you to the latest version of Enterprise Architect.
Renewal only covers the number and type of licenses originally purchased. Any additional licenses must be purchased at the standard edition price.
You can continue to use the version of Enterprise Architect you already have installed; you just won’t be able to update it unless you renew.
Without an active subscription you lose access to the downloadable version from the Sparx Systems website. We strongly recommend keeping a backup of your Enterprise Architect installation file so you can reinstall it later if needed.
Upgrading Your Edition
You can upgrade your Enterprise Architect license to a higher edition (for example, Corporate to Unified, or Unified to Ultimate) at any time by paying the price difference in Sparx EA license cost between your current edition and the higher one. A processing fee applies.
A few important points to note:
- If your subscription has expired, you must renew first before upgrading.
- Upgrading does not extend your subscription period — your renewal date stays the same.
- Future renewals will be billed at the new edition’s renewal rate.

Enterprise Architect Student Licenses & Academic Pricing
An Enterprise Architect student license is available to students, academic staff, educational institutions and non-profit organisations at discounted rates. Eligibility and discount terms are determined by Sparx Systems and require verification of academic status.
